Despite Shifting Trends, Kingpins Denim Keeps the Spirit Alive in Amsterdam

Despite the challenges facing exhibition culture today, the recent Kingpins Denim show at Amsterdam’s Sugar Factory made a strong effort to keep the spirit alive—bringing together denim specialists from around the world to showcase their expertise.

At the exhibition, standout trends reflected a dynamic blend of sustainability, innovation, and heritage craftsmanship driving the future of denim. Exhibitors showcased eco-conscious fabrics and cutting-edge yarns—such as metallic and high-shine varieties—highlighted by renowned sustainable mills.

A dedicated “Made in Japan” area celebrated the artistry and enduring influence of Japanese denim craftsmanship, drawing attention to precision techniques and premium quality.

Denim-specific presentations explored how brands can address environmental and social responsibilities through smarter design and production. Additionally, the Kingpins Future Forecast for FW 25/26, developed by Denim Dudes, drew major industry players with insights into emerging cultural and style trends, from silhouettes to washes.
